Communication has taken on an increasingly central role and strategic importance in public and international relations. Nowadays, important goals in the field of institutions, in political activity, in Europe and in international organizations can be reached through media relations and institutional lobbying activities.

GOAL AND CONTENT

Communication has taken on an increasingly central role and strategic importance in public and international relations. Nowadays, important goals in the field of institutions, in political activity, in Europe and in international organizations can be reached through media relations and institutional lobbying activities.

ADMISSION

The Master’s course is addressed to graduates in all disciplines, directors and officers of the Public civil and military administration, embassy officials, executives and officials of the private sector, journalists, press officers and young professionals interested in gaining more skills.

PROGRAMME

TEACHING MODULES

MEDIA AND TEACHING ON THE INTERNATIONAL SCENARIO

– Communication in International Relations and Diplomacy;

– Military Communication: areas of crisis and International missions;

– Crisis Communication and the management of an emergency;

– International bodies, cooperation and NGO’s: advocacy and communication;

– Euro-communication:  information and promotion in Europe;

– AmbCom: Inform and communicate within Diplomatic headquarters.

INSTITUTIONAL LOBBYING AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS

  • The legal framework of Lobbying: Italy, Europe, United States;
  • The European Lobby: Coalition building and regulatory;
  • Influence on decision-making process: community lobbying tools;
  • Strategy and tools of PR and networking: from parties to the social field.

TOOLS AND RELATIONS WITH THE MEDIA

  • Spokesman, press officer, press and Public Relations Office;
  • Working in a press agency;
  • Efficient and social writing;
  • Organization of events and Media etiquette;
  • Communication and fundraising: sponsor, media partnership and promoting.

DIGITAL COMMUNICATION

  • Press Office 2.0;
  • Digital Diplomacy : foreign policy and social media;
  • Social media mining : terrorism, ISIS and social networks;
  • Web security : OSINT and digital intelligence;
  • Market research and surveys;
  • Big Data analytics;
  • Web Reputation.

BRAND JOURNALISM

  • Communicate businesses: international competitiveness models and tools;
  • Marketing and brand communications: export and made in;
  • Building an image, advertising and winning strategies;
  • Creation and design of campaigns;
  • Events, endorsements, exhibitions.

TECHNIQUES OF RELATIONS AND PERFORMANCE

  • Ability to negotiate and influential language;

  • Advanced communication techniques: public speaking, leading, coaching;
  • The Handbook interview;
  • Simulations and practical tests.

MEDIA LAB

  • Simulations and practical tests;
  • Final Project Work.
CURRICULAR INTERSHIP

At the end of the formative course, the student will complete an internship within institutions, public administrations, organizations, and enterprises and societies that operate in this sector.

MASTER’S DEGREE

The evaluation of the issuance of the master’s degree will be based on participation in educational activities, test results, the attendance of at least 80% of the lessons and of the preparation of the final Project Work.
