Observatory on the activities of International Organizations and Italian foreign policy

the Observatory on the activities of International and Supranational, Universal and Regional Organizations, on topics of interest to Italian foreign policy (www.osorin.it) and its Newsletter aim to promote research and its dissemination on relevant themes of international organizations’ activities, which are also of primary importance for Italian foreign policy. To this end, SIOI relies on the collaboration of research groups established at various universities composed of experts and scholars on the topics addressed, with a significant presence of young researchers.

This research project is carried out with the contribution of the Analysis, Programming, Statistics, and Historical Documentation Unit – Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI).

To give some examples of the topics addressed by the Observatory, we mention: the new multipolar world order; the international strategy for managing migratory flows; the future of the broader Mediterranean; Italy’s role in Africa; the revitalization of the European Union project. It is easy to imagine that among the international organizations involved in the research activities there will certainly be the UN and all the universal organizations of the United Nations system, but also NATO, the Council of Europe, the European Union, and many others.

In conclusion of this brief presentation, we thank the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for the support provided to SIOI for the realization of the Observatory’s research project and related activities, which constitute a quality dissemination tool for a broad audience, also highlighting Italy’s commitment in international and European fields.
