On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Directorate General of the Mediterranean and the Middle East, a project was completed for the training of 15 Iraqi diplomats on the themes of peace, international security and the European Union. The session “Peace and Security” was held at SIOI from the 22 of November to the 2 of December and issues addressed included UN reform, the system of collective security, security strategies in the Mediterranean and the Middle East, the processes of democratization, the protection of human rights and minorities, and international trade and globalization of markets.
