President Frattini and Amb. Mattiolo launch the Training Course for Moldovan Diplomats

Launch of the Training Course for Moldovan Diplomats in Geopolitics, Democratization and Human Rights Protection

ROME – Monday, 23rd September 2013, h. 3:30pm: The Director General for the European Union at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Luigi Mattiolo, the President of SIOI, Hon. Franco Frattini and the Chargé d’Affaires a.i. at the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova to the Italian Republic, Mr Tudor Vasilica, launch at SIOI the Training Course for Moldovan Diplomats in Geopolitics, Democratization and Human Rights Protection, to be held from September 23rd to October 4th, 2013.

The training project, organized by SIOI, with the contribution of theDG European Union and the co-operation of the Diplomatic Institute, will involve 10 diplomats coming from the Republic of Moldova. The training programme focuses on four thematic areas: “law and international organization”, “geopolitics and international relations”, “democratization and human rights protection”, “European Union policies and institutions”. The participants will have the chance to broaden their knowledge of the thematic areas of the course through a pragmatic approach that combines the traditional teaching method with workshops, case study analysis and guided tours of institutional representations both Italian and European.

The initiative aims at supporting actions of cooperation in favour of the Republic of Moldova in order to contribute both to the strengthening of the Italian-Moldovan relations and the development of new fields of cooperation between the two countries.
