MASTER IN SPACE INSTITUTIONS AND POLICIES
The Italian Society for International Organization, the Italian Space Agency and the Institute for International Legal Studies of the CNR is offering the fifth edition of the Master in Space Institutions and Policies.
The course aims to provide specialized preparation and professional training in the field of Space Institutions and Policies in particular, but not exclusively, in the legal, political, and economic disciplines regarding the themes of the exploration and the use of outer space.
A significant part of the program will be dedicated to European Space Policy, with particular emphasis on the role of the European Space Agency (ESA) and the use of the European programs for satellite navigation GALILEO and GMES. In the Legal Section a special contribution will be made by ESA - European Centre for Space Law (ECSL). The innovative character of this course - in an area which is not fully developed - concerns the training of specialists in Space policies with legal - institutional, technical - scientific and socio - economic competences, who will be able to operate, in various capacities and with various levels of responsibility, in international institutions, in addition to national and international companies and institutes based on research.
The objectives of Space policy, which is still evolving, require immediate legal, economic, social and security initiatives. It is important to promote the idea of a new professional figure with specific competence for the organization of a wide range of space activities in the national, European and international context.
The Master is for those who already possess a first degree in any discipline or who are still in the process of obtaining a degree, which they will get before the course terminates, and for civil servants. Candidates who graduated in a foreign country can also be admitted.
In order to be admitted to the Master the candidates have to present their degree certificate including the title of the degree with the final score obtained; have a good knowledge of English, if they are foreigner, a good knowledge of Italian is necessary and present any other documentation considered relevant by the candidate.
The course involves training for a total of 200 hours of face to face lessons and 200 hours of individual study (for a total of 400 hours). During the course there will be progress tests and then a final exam. The course will take place two afternoons a week for a total of 8 hours a week.
